Proverbs22_6

“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. ~Proverbs 22:6″

Children are God’s gifts to us, they are blessings. They belong to God and we are God’s stewards. As parents, this scripture tells us to dedicate our children to the Lord and morally train them to follow Him. The book of Proverbs points out that there is a standard of life a child must attain. It says there are only two ways a person can go, the way of the wise and righteousness, and the way of the fool. One takes training and the other does not.

What does this mean? We see this scripture as a reminder that we must dedicate our children to the Lord. As parents/stewards it is our responsibility to train our children the way, God’s way, that will last throughout life. Don’t misinterpret this scripture as a promise. It is a truth with some exceptions. Why? Because your child still has self-will and may choose to go his own way. However, in most cases, children follow their parents’ training.

There is the right way to go and the wrong way to go. We should teach our children the right way to go. So that when they are on their own, they will choose what is right.

Now go and train your blessings!

Sincerely,
The Greenbergs :)

Lovely picture. As we were faithful in training our four children, God covered us in His grace and He was faithful to bring the fruit of righteousness into their lives. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
